Speaker: Dr. Paula Giddings
Elizabeth A. Woodson Professor Emerita of Africana Studies at Smith College
Dr. Paula Giddings is a leading scholar on social justice, race, anti-racism, and Black feminism. Her book Ida, A Sword Among Lions won The Los Angeles Times book prize for biography and was a finalist for the National Book Critics Circle award.
This lecture will center on Ida B. Wells and her resistance strategies within a larger conversation about the
politics of race and gender in America.
