Srinivas Krishnan Welcoming Lunch
12-1 PM

Mary Baldwin University is pleased to welcome a team of 12 middle-school scholars from the LEAP program in Chennai, India, and Spencer Center for Civic and Global Engagement Artist-in-Residence Srinivas Krishnan, who has been a guest performer at MBU many times over the past 15 years.
About Boundary Breakers
Under Srini’s artistic direction, the youngsters will perform at the Spencer Center luncheon and again during the opening ceremony and closing reception of the Capstone Festival on May 10. If possible, please plan to join us for one of the LEAP performances, which will feature works of LEAP mentor, Composer A. R. Rahman, specifically his Sufi compositions rooted in Indian classical music. They will also sing works by Ravi, Adele, and excerpts from The Lord of the Rings.
You will see the students around campus, attending some May Term classes, and out and about in Staunton, as they plan to visit the American Shakespeare Center and the Frontier Culture Museum, before traveling for performances in Washington and Boston.
Let’s give these young musicians an #MBUfamily welcome!
