Voice Recital at Mary Baldwin

Vanessa Nickens will perform a voice recital at Mary Baldwin University on Saturday, January 15, at 3:00 p.m. in Francis Auditorium. The event is free and open to the public and will feature selections by Schubert, Durante, Gershwin, and Bizet.

Nickens is originally from Berlin German, but now resides in Roanoke, VA. She has been studying voice for the past two and a half years and plans to continue with graduate education in vocal performance.

A junior majoring in both vocal music and psychology at Mary Baldwin, she recently performed at the Staunton Public Library’s “A Little Lunch Music” with fellow Mary Baldwin student Molly Payne. Nickens is also involved with several performance groups – Mary Baldwin Concert Choir, the Madrigal Singers, and Baldwin Charm.

Francis Auditorium is located in the Pearce Science Center at the corner of Coalter and Frederick Streets in Staunton.
