The annual Soul Food Banquet will be held on Wednesday, February 16, in Mary Baldwin University’s Hunt Dining Hall at 6:00 p.m.
The menu includes: southern fried chicken, barbeque spareribs, fresh mixed greens, New Orleans style red beans and rice, macaroni and cheese, potato salad, cornbread, southern angel biscuits, peach cobbler, sweet potato pie, and sweet iced tea.
The theme of the banquet is “It’s a Family Affair” and The Woodson Brothers, a local group, will make a special guest musical appearance.
The community is invited to come and enjoy the great food and fellowship. Tickets must be purchased in advance at the Bookstack, 1 East Beverley Street, Staunton, or by calling (540) 887-7270. The cost is $12 for adults, $10 for children 12 and under. Seating is limited and will be on a first come, first served basis.
The event is being held in conjunction with Mary Baldwin’s celebration of Black History Month.
