Paintings by Erling Sjovold, who combines still life and landscapes, will be on view January 13 through 31 in Hunt Gallery in the college’s Lyda B. Hunt Dining Hall.
Sjovold earned a B.A. from the University of California and an M.F.A. from the School of the Art Institute of Chicago. Assistant professor of art at the University of Richmond, he has taught at other institutions, including the Savannah College of Art and Design and Indiana University. Sjovold’s work has appeared in exhibitions in this country and abroad.
The exhibition will open with a public reception for the artist Monday, January 13, from 4:30 to 6 p.m. in Hunt Gallery, which is dedicated to the exhibition of contemporary work in all media by regionally and nationally recognized artists. The gallery is open to the public Monday through Friday from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. during the academic year.
