Mary Baldwin Theatre Concludes Season with One-Act Plays

Mary Baldwin University Theatre concludes the 2002-03 season with One More Time, student-directed one-act plays. Performances will be held in the Fletcher Collins Theatre in Deming Hall on Wednesday, May 7, through Sunday, May 11. Wednesday through Saturday performances begin at 8 p.m., and the Sunday matinee performance begins at 2 p.m. Shows on “Bill One” will be Wednesday, Friday, and Sunday; “Bill Two” is Tuesday, Thursday, and Saturday.

“Bill One”

Tender Offer by Wendy Wasserstein, directed by Natalie Tasillo, about a girl and her relationship with her father.

Relative Strangers by Sheri Wilner, directed by DeeDee Brokenborough. A woman in her mid-20s, on an airplane, searches for the mother she never had.

Can’t Buy Me Love by Jason Milligan, directed by Georgia Leitner. In the 1970s, three small-town high school girls decide to call Paul McCartney.

15 Minutes by Dave Christopher, directed by Kate Frazier, about a nightly cable talk show that occurs in the hostess’ bedroom while her husband is asleep.

“Bill Two”

Overtones by Alice Gerstenberg, directed by Jill Keagy. Two women try to gain what the other has while fighting off their very visible consciences.

Battle of Bull Run Always Makes Me Cry by Carole Real, directed by Kim Baldwin. Donna reenacts her date with Patrick from the night before for her friends, Amy and Linda.

Lifetime Contract by Chuck Smith, directed by Heather Carlyle. Two strangers become each other’s saving grace and prove that families are what you make of them.
