Mary Baldwin University’s Sunday Recital Series presents pianists Lori Piitz and Gabriel Dobner on Sunday, January 29. The concert will feature works by Grieg, Mozart, Schubert, Debussy, and Corigliano.
Canadian pianist and member of the James Madison University piano faculty, Lori Piitz, holds performance degrees from Indiana University and the University of Ottawa. Since joining the piano faculty of JMU in 2002, Piitz has participated in the Contemporary Music Festival at JMU, the Bach Festival at Eastern Mennonite University, the Richmond Chamber Music Festival and the Staunton Music Festival.
Also a member of the piano faculty at James Madison University, Gabriel Dobner received his bachelor’s degree in piano performance from Chicago Musical College of Roosevelt University. He went to Indiana University in Bloomington to earn his master’s and doctoral degrees.
The performance will be at 3 p.m. on January 29 in Mary Baldwin University’s Francis Auditorium at the corner of Coalter and Frederick streets, Staunton.
