Verizon Funds Classroom Technology

September 25, 2006

A $22,500 gift from Verizon Corporation to Mary Baldwin University has been used to install computer and presentation hardware in three classrooms in Carpenter Academic Hall. Upgrades in these classrooms will reach a large cross section of students and will increase efficiency and effectiveness of teaching and learning in many disciplines, starting with fall semester classes that began this week.

Verizon is dedicated to helping member colleges of the Virginia Foundation for Independent Colleges (VFIC) keep current with state-of-the-art technology. The company previously provided funding to Mary Baldwin for faculty technology training.
