July 21, 2009

An important message from Dr. Pamela Fox, president of Mary Baldwin University:

“Dear Mary Baldwin Alumnae/i and Friends:

I write today with very sad news about a much-loved and respected professor. We have received word that Professor of Psychology Jack L. Kibler III died early this morning.

In Dr. Kibler’s 28 years as a member of the faculty, he distinguished himself as a stellar teacher, a caring mentor, a collaborative and brilliant colleague, and a loyal friend. We will greatly miss him.

I feel this loss deeply on a personal level, as well as on behalf of Mary Baldwin University. I know many of you feel the same.”

In keeping with the family’s wishes, Dr. Kibler’s memorial service will be private. His obituary is posted at, through which one can also send private condolences to the family.

Individuals who would like to share memories and thoughts about professor Kibler are invited to post them on Mary Baldwin University’s Facebook page at If you are not a Facebook member, please send your rememberances to and we will share them with the Mary Baldwin University community.
