Freshmen in the Career Academy gateway learned how to make a good impression on the job market during the Career Carnival, December 2.
The event was designed to be a fun and festive way to highlight the best ways to impress future employers. The “Nice to Meet Me” station taught students how to make a good first impression and network, “Dress to Impress” challenged two teams to appropriately dress a mannequin for an interview, and “MBTI Madness” gave students the opportunity to take the Myers-Briggs Type Indicator test to assess what jobs were best suited to their personality profile. Other stations were dedicated to resume writing, mock interviews, and stress management.
Approximately 50 students attended the carnival, which was hosted by the Mary Baldwin Career Development staff and Career Academy in SAC Ballroom. Keep checking the Mary Baldwin events calendar
and the Career Development website for more events in the spring.
