Sophomore cadets on Apple Eve

Virginia Women’s Institute for Leadership cadets in the Class of 2013 (pictured above, at Attack the PAC on Apple Eve) are infused with the Mary Baldwin University volunteer spirit as they plan to team up with the Augusta Lions Club this weekend for trash cleanup. The crew will work at Asylum Creek at Ware Elementary School in Staunton and along a stretch of Va. Route 262 near Applebee’s. “We want to be more involved,” said Nicole Ridenhour, a sophomore from Roanoke. “We want the community to know that we love being at Mary Baldwin and in this community and that part of being here means giving back through service.” The cadets hope to participate in more community service projects throughout the year.
