Nearly 20 Baldwin pianos were delivered to campus last weekend, in anticipation of the June 28 start of the Heifetz International Music Institute. For the next six weeks, the pianos will be housed in Carpenter Academic Hall, which has been transformed into Heifetz headquarters for 62 talented musicians, ages 14 to 25; administrators; and a faculty of world-class professional musicians. Twice weekly, free Stars of Tomorrow concerts begin on campus on July 4 and weekly Celebrity Series concerts beginning July 5 will give the Mary Baldwin Community and the general public a chance to experience firsthand the talent of Heifetz students and faculty. Consult the Heifetz website for more information on these scheduled performances. At the end of the summer season, the pianos will be available for sale, from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. on August 11 and 12 at the Carpenter Academic Center.
A Grand Welcome
