Mary Baldwin University announced that Vice President of Institutional Advancement David M. Atchley has stepped down to pursue other opportunities. The college plans to conduct a nationwide search for a permanent successor. Atchley will be available to Mary Baldwin President Pamela Fox for consultation until the end of the year.
“We are grateful to Mr. Atchley for his work with us over the past two years as we have created a successful Institutional Advancement team and advanced our fundraising efforts to recently launch the public phase of Ever Ahead: The Campaign for Mary Baldwin University and the groundbreaking of our new Murphy Deming College of Health Sciences,” Fox said.
Atchley has served as the college’s vice president of Institutional Advancement since January 2011. Prior to joining the college, Atchley served Presbyterian College in Clinton, South Carolina, as vice president of advancement, special assistant to the president and vice president of the School of Pharmacy development, and, prior to that, he served Wofford College in Spartanburg, South Carolina, as associate vice president of development.
