A Degree in Doing
Whether in the studio or the rehearsal room, MBU’s liberal-artists engage with the doing of art from the moment they step foot on campus. Our collaborative model of teaching allows students to work alongside faculty in every facet of creative projects.
Study, direct, experiment, and perform on campus and in the Blackfriars Playhouse — the world’s only recreation of Shakespeare’s indoor theatre — through a partnership with the renowned American Shakespeare Center. Check out our world-class Theatre program, majors and minors in Music, Film, Studio Art, and Art History, and our graduate MLitt/MFA in Shakespeare & Performance.

Some programs stress scholarship, others stagecraft. We marry both aspects. Our goal every day is to learn together as a community of artists and educators working side-by-side.
