Assistant Athletic Trainer

Mary Baldwin University (MBU) seeks a full time Assistant Athletic Trainer for its NCAA Division III athletics program. The successful candidate reports directly to the Head Athletic Trainer.

Located in Staunton, VA, Mary Baldwin University recently grew from college to university status reflecting its growing range of bachelor’s, master level, and doctoral programs.  The University has nearly doubled its undergraduate enrollment in the last four years and reported record-breaking enrollment for the 2020-21 academic year.  MBU is a very diverse entrepreneurial institution with a record of innovation aspiring to meet the evolving higher education needs of society.

The successful candidate will assist in all facets of the athletic training program for MBU’s 15-sport NCAA Division III athletics program, including:

Minimum Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree.  BOC Athletic Training Certification.  CPR and AED certifications as well as a Virginia license for Athletic Training or be eligible to obtain the state license.  Candidates must have strong organizational skills and a proven ability to work collaboratively within the athletic department and throughout the University community.  Strong oral and written communication skills.  Knowledge of and commitment to NCAA Division III rules.  Valid driver’s license and ability to establish driver eligibility under the University’s Driving and Motor Vehicle Policy.  The successful candidate must pass all required background and reference checks.

Preferred Qualifications: Master’s degree. Previous experience in collegiate athletics. Previous history of relationship-building and cultivation of former student-athletes and other program stakeholders.
