Jessica Ray, DNP, CRNA

Adjunct Faculty, Nurse Anesthesiology Program

Jessica graduated from Virginia Commonwealth University with a BSN in 2000. She started her nursing career as an RN at Carilion Clinic in Roanoke and practiced for 8 years in the Emergency Department and Cardiovascular Surgical ICU. She then went on to graduate school at the University of North Carolina-Charlotte and obtained her MSN in Nurse Anesthesia in 2010. In 2023, she completed her DNP degree at Mary Baldwin University. 

Jessica has practiced in a variety of anesthesia practice settings including level-one trauma centers, community hospitals, office settings, and critical access hospitals. In addition to teaching as an adjunct at MBU, she practices as a Certified Registered Nurse Anesthetist at a small critical access hospital in Virginia. Her clinical interests include enhanced recovery after anesthesia (ERAS) programs, regional anesthesia, and championing evidence-based practice. 

A Virginia native, Jessica has lived in Staunton since 2016 with her husband of 24 years and two children.
