LaRhonda Johnson Horton is a Assistant Vice President of Student Engagement at Mary Baldwin University, where she works to create a safer and supportive environment for all through education and training, conducting needs assessments, analyzing campus climate surveys, advocating for trauma-informed policies and practices, and performing program evaluations. She has over 15 years of experience in Student Affairs leadership, overseeing a range of essential departments and services that meet the diverse needs of the student population.

Horton is a certified Mental Health First Aid provider and a Universal Design for Learning Associate, with skills and credentials in Title IX, Victim Advocacy, and Policy Interpretation. She is passionate about advancing the university’s restorative justice initiatives, leading circle and facilitated dialogue processes in classrooms, and adjudicating or assigning cases for resolution. She is also a collaborative and empowering leader, who mentors, coaches, and builds teams of staff members to reach their full potential. LaRhonda is committed to fostering a positive and inclusive campus environment that supports student growth and success.
