May Term

May Term at Mary Baldwin is a mini-term during the summer where students can take unique, accelerated courses to foster their academic, personal, and professional development. Courses last between two and three weeks and feature highly engaging discussion-based and hands-on learning.
Students are encouraged to pursue cultural experiences in our liberal arts offerings or dive deep into specific career-building skills.
May Term features opportunities like:
- Creative writing or studio art workshops with MBU’s Doenges artist, scholars in residence, or other visiting experts
- Art and activism with the Spencer Center’s artist-in-residence through creating murals in the local community
- Soaking up the rich history and culture of Oaxaca, Mexico, while practicing Spanish language skills
A May Term program is the best of both worlds: you can study outside the traditional classroom environment, but you don’t have to leave Mary Baldwin for a full semester or year.
