Mary Baldwin University offers rolling admissions for its online programs. That means you can apply anytime throughout the year. We accept applications right up until the day classes start.
Please complete your FAFSA application and submit it at the same time as your MBU application.

All Nursing Programs
The admission requirements to this program include the following.
- Online application through NursingCAS: $60 application fee
- Submit official transcripts from all post-secondary educational institutions including showing a conferred Associate Degree in Nursing
- All transferring coursework must reflect a “C” or better
- Current unrestricted RN license
- Employment as an RN for a minimum of 6 months, OR plans to practice concurrently with coursework
- Ability to meet the Nursing Department’s Technical Standards for nursing practice

The admission requirements to this hybrid graduate degree program include the following.
- Online application through NursingCAS: $80 application fee
- Earned BSN from an accredited CCNE and ACEN School of Nursing
- Official transcripts from all post-secondary educational institutions are required
- Students need a minimum 3.0 GPA
- Current resume or curriculum vitae
- Undergraduate or graduate statistics course with a “C” or better grade
- Undergraduate research course with a “C” or better grade
- Undergraduate nursing leadership course with a “C” or better grade
- Proof of English proficiency
- No GRE/GMAT required

The admission requirements for this hybrid graduate degree program include the following.

- Current resume or curriculum vitae
- Current unrestricted RN license in the Commonwealth of Virginia or state participating in the National Council for State Authorization Reciprocity Agreements (NC-SARA)
- Completion of undergraduate or graduate Statistics and Leadership courses with a grade of “C” or higher
- Minimum of one year (2,080 hours) of full-time nursing experience
- Current BLS certification
- Proof of English proficiency
- No GRE/GMAT required

The admission requirements for this program include the following:
- Online application through NursingCAS: $80 application fee
- Earned MSN from an accredited CCNE or ACEN School of Nursing
- Official transcripts from all post-secondary educational institutions are required
- Students need a minimum 3.0 GPA
- Current certification as an Advanced Practice Nurse from a US National Certifying Board such as a CNP, CRNA, CNS, or CNM
- One year (2,080 hours) of full-time experience as an APRN
- Current BLS certification
- Proof of English proficiency
- No GRE/GMAT required

- Elementary Education MEd
- Gifted Education MEd
- Reading Education MEd (will accept expired teaching license; must have successfully completed at least three years of full-time teaching before program completion OR be in the process of concluding your third year of full-time teaching during your last semester of the program.)
- Special Education MEd (valid Virginia teaching license in Elementary Education or Middle/Secondary core content areas)

You must be a Virginia resident to complete this degree program and gain a teaching license.

The admission requirements for this program include:

- An essay detailing the student’s interest in the MBA program is required
- A bachelor’s degree from a regionally accredited institution
- Bachelor’s degree in business is not required – the program is open to all undergraduate majors
- Official transcripts from all post-secondary educational institutions are required
- Students need a minimum 3.0 GPA for full admission
- Proof of English proficiency
- No GRE/GMAT required

The Mary Baldwin University MHA program takes a holistic approach to reviewing applications. The university seeks to find people who combine high academic achievement with compassion. The whole student is considered rather than disproportionately focusing on one factor.
We ask MHA program candidates to share their unique strengths and qualities, along with relevant work or volunteer experiences, even if not directly related to healthcare. These factors are part of the application review and selection process.
The admission requirements for this program include:

- A personal statement detailing how the MHA relates to their professional goals
- Students need a minimum 2.8 GPA for full admission

The requirements for the MHA & MBA program at Mary Baldwin University include those listed above for the individual programs, along with the following additions:
- Online application (free)
- Students need a minimum 3.0 GPA for full admission
- Pre-requisite courses: Statistics (3 credit hrs) and Research Methods (3 credit hrs)
- Students without a background in business, accounting or an approved business-related field will take an exam to evaluate their level of business knowledge. Based on exam results, applicants may be required to take one or more pre-MBA module courses offered at MBU.

Online Scholarships
Mary Baldwin University provides several scholarship opportunities for online students. These include:
- Alumni’s Best and Brightest Scholarship: A one-time $500 scholarship.
- Phi Theta Kappa Scholarship: A $1,500 merit scholarship for community
- college students.
- First Responder Scholarship: Up to $1,000 annually for students employed in emergency services.
- Community Leader Scholarship: A $1,000 scholarship for students employed at a Virginia Chamber of Commerce member company.
- Military Leader Scholarship: A $1,000 annual discount for honorably discharged military personnel and their dependents.
Individual programs may also have program-specific scholarships. Consult the Financial Aid Office for information.
