Experiential Learning
For the Susan Warfield Caples Social Work Program, field work is considered as important as your in-class education. That’s why the Social Work program requires students to complete 450 hours in field instruction. Mary Baldwin’s Social Work program partners with agencies working in mental health, economic aid, criminal justice, and many other fields that provide you real experience in bettering your community.

School FAQs
Yes! If you transfer with an Associates in Human Services or a related degree, you can obtain a bachelor’s in Social Work in two years without taking any Gen Eds.
No, your field work hours must be earned at the same time that you are taking your courses. However, if you are involved with another organization other than Mary Baldwin for which you are doing field work during your completion of the degree, you may count those hours.
