Mary Baldwin Introduces New Director of Alumnae/i Engagement

The Office of Alumnae/i and Parent Relations has a new, energetic leader, ready to foster connections between Mary Baldwin University and its alumni and parents. Director of Alumnae/i Engagement Kim Hutto will assume her role in April.

hutto_kim“Mary Baldwin University is an exceptional institution with its own rich history and unique culture,” Hutto said. “I knew on the day of my interview when I toured the campus that I very much wanted to be part of the Mary Baldwin family.”

Hutto will manage all alumni relations activities and communications — including working with the Alumnae/i Association Board of Directors and Parent Council — and oversee two full-time staff members. As a member of the Institutional Advancement management team, she will also add valuable insight on how engagement complements donor cultivation for gifts to the college.

“Everyone I meet who is connected with Mary Baldwin expresses a strong sense of pride in the college,” she said. “I am thrilled to be representing the interests of all Mary Baldwin alumni and engaging them in the life of the college in meaningful ways.”

Hutto previously served as director of alumni career services at Oregon State University, where she led engagement activities with a focus on job-search strategies, career transitions, and long-term career development. She built a strong network of colleagues, alumni, and students to promote career connections at the university and drive networking opportunities online. She also planned and carried out numerous alumni career events in targeted areas all over the country.

Hutto also worked at James Madison University as director of alumni relations and executive director of the alumni association and at Middle Tennessee State University as associate director of alumni relations.
