Union Bank & Trust has announced that Mary Baldwin University President Pamela Fox has recently joined its area board of directors. The board is comprised of 10 members from the Augusta and Rockbridge regions, and is led by market executives Greg Godsey, Charlie Martorana, and Leonard Pittman.
Fox has served as president and professor of music at Mary Baldwin since July 2003. She was instrumental in bringing the Heifetz International Music Institute to Staunton in 2012, along with developing the Murphy Deming College of Health Sciences, which opened in 2014 on a new campus in the heart of Augusta County’s thriving Blue Ridge Life Sciences corridor and offers Mary Baldwin’s first doctoral degrees. Active nationally in higher education and a devoted leader in the Staunton/Augusta community, Fox was named the 2011 Citizen of the Year by the Greater Augusta Regional Chamber of Commerce.
As the largest community bank based in the Commonwealth, Union has seven full service offices serving the Greater Augusta area, including Staunton, Stuarts Draft, Verona, and Waynesboro, as well as three full-service offices in the Harrisonburg market.
