Homecoming 2017: Try Mingling During Tent Crawl

As part of Mary Baldwin University’s All-Alumni Homecoming Weekend and 175th anniversary, all attendees are invited to the all-alumni tent crawl (a progressive dinner) from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. on April 22 on upper campus.

For an alternative to the traditional alumni dinner, alumni will dine al fresco. There will be several locations within a small, walkable area to mingle with classmates while enjoying various types of food and beverage. Special areas will be set up for graduates of each decade to congregate, with classes from the 1960s and Grafton Society invited to gather inside the new University Café (formerly known as the Pub).

The President’s House and lawn will offer wine tasting, featuring MBU private-label wine for sale, and a gourmet cheese and antipasto display. Vineyards include Barren Ridge, Ox Eye, and Bluestone.

Student Activities Center (SAC) will offer sushi from our very own Malihka Cuisine including Sapporo (Japanese beer) and Sake (rice wine).

Page Garden will have mini-sliders including beef, crab, and portobello mushroom as well as assorted beer.

Tyson Terrace will feature dessert, including Hershey’s ice cream, fresh fruit with chocolate, and MBU water.

Visit the University Café for Starbucks coffee.

Diners may also plan to attend the 175th Anniversary Candle Lighting Ceremony immediately following the Tent Crawl at 8:30 p.m., conveniently located on upper campus at the Fire Pit on the William G. Pannill Center Lawn.
