A New Spin on Christmas Cheer (photos)

The first ever Christmas tree lighting kicked off the festive season at Mary Baldwin on November 29, and put a new spin on an MBU tradition.

Christmas Cheer invited the campus community to Page Terrace for a scripture reading and performances by Baldwin Charm, Bella Voce, and the Mary Baldwin Choir, plus sing-alongs and hot chocolate and coffee. Led by MBU Chaplain Katherine Low and President Pamela Fox, the ceremony drummed up holiday spirit before counting down to illuminating the new tree and campus buildings.

Afterwards, MBU students enjoyed their holiday party in the Student Activities Center, featuring a special buffet, photo booth, candy bar, and holiday music. Dedicated to the Class of 2019, the event was open to all MBU students, residential, commuter, and graduate.
