2020 Homecoming to Feature Both Reunion and Women’s Leadership Symposium

MBU looks forward to welcoming home the Grafton Society, the classes of ‘0s and ‘5s, and all alumni for Homecoming on April 2–5, 2020. Homecoming will feature both MBU’s Reunion and the second annual Women’s Leadership Symposium, hosted by the Mary Baldwin College for Women.

The Women’s Leadership Symposium will kick off Homecoming to be followed by Reunion celebrations. More specific information, as well as a schedule of events will be available soon.

“I am especially excited to celebrate members of our Grafton Society and welcome the Class of 1970 during their Induction on Friday, April 3, during The Grafton Society Luncheon,” said Anne Holland ’88, director of special projects for the Office of Alumni Engagement, who leads Reunion planning. “This group has always been such shining ambassadors for Mary Baldwin in their communities for many years”

Event programming will be tailored to the different groups of attendees — including celebratory gatherings for Reunion goers, like the Grafton Society induction and class dinners, and themed seminars, workshops, and alumni-student mentoring opportunities for symposium participants — as well as offering general interest activities for all alumni and Homecoming visitors.

“Placing Reunion and the Women’s Leadership Symposium under one banner is a great way to give both our alumni and our students a two-for-one opportunity to engage, while allowing both experiences to shine,” said Carey Usher, dean of Mary Baldwin College for Women, who helps envision each year’s symposium. “The theme of women’s leadership permeates both events, as current students get to know our alumni as inspiring role models and as our alumni reconnect with MBU’s meaningful and innovative work to address pressing issues in society.”

Homecoming planning is underway, and details and registration will be shared in the coming weeks at marybaldwin.edu/alumni. Please save the dates and plan now to attend on April 2–5, 2020.
