Student Volunteers Help Complete Tree Planting Project

MBU students continued their volunteer work this fall for Shenandoah Green’s Legacy Tree Project, pursuing the goal of planting 2,746 trees in Staunton, one for every child in the Staunton City Schools. Under the leadership of India McCoy ’21, special programs assistant in the Spencer Center for Civic and Global Engagement, 52 MBU students assisted with tree planting throughout the city and on the university’s Staunton campus. The project’s final tree was planted on Nov. 12 at a celebratory ceremony at Shelburne Middle School.
