MBU welcomed alumni and guests back to campus to celebrate Homecoming and reconnect on June 9–11. Featured events included campus tours, class gatherings, a family and friends BBQ, tours of historic Staunton homes and landmarks, wine tastings, a celebration dinner, and more.
This year’s Homecoming marked the final public event for President Pamela R. Fox, who will retire at the end of June. Fox shared in many special moments over the weekend, and personally offered her gratitude for alumni’s dedication and friendship over the past 20 years at a Saturday brunch hosted by the SAWMBU Alumni Chapter.
The Class of 1973 celebrated their milestone 50th Reunion and induction into the honorary Grafton Society, and pioneering MBU athletes, athletic directors, and coaches were inducted into the 2023 Athletics Hall of Fame, including Mary Ann Kasselmann (coach/athletic director); the late Lois Blackburn Bryan (tennis coach); Martha Coates ’87 (primarily tennis); Jessica Carter ’08 (basketball); Sharon Spalding (coach, athletic director, faculty); and Sophia Stone ’15 (cross country).
