Barbara Acord, MSN, CRNA

Barbara has been a practicing Certified Registered Nurse Anesthetist at the University of Virginia Medical Center for 15 years her specialty includes Neuro-anesthesia, trauma, orthopedics, and general surgery. When she is not practicing in the main OR, she is participating in Focused Ultrasound research with UVA Neurosurgery.

Barbara graduated from Virginia Commonwealth University with a BSN in 1998. She started working in the Neuro ICU at UVA upon graduation. She completed graduate school and obtained her MSN in Nurse Anesthesia in 2009. In the fall of 2024, she will receive her Ph.D. in Nursing Education and Leadership from Liberty University, Lynchburg Virginia.
