Assistant Professor, Physician Assistant Program

David Suyes, PA-C, is an Assistant Professor in the Physician Assistant Program at Mary Baldwin University’s Murphy Deming College of Health Sciences. He has a clinical background in primary care, internal medicine, urgent care, and federally qualified health center settings, with additional experience in health insurance policy, medical record development, USPSTF preventive screening tracking, and data quality improvement. Prior to joining the faculty full time, he supported the PA program through adjunct teaching, grading, skills-based education, and student assessment. His professional interests include practical clinical reasoning, patient-centered care, evidence-based screening, and helping students connect classroom knowledge to real-world clinical practice. Outside of medicine, he enjoys spending time with his family and has many hobbies, including music and media.
