Jennifer Hackley
Jennifer Hackley holds a BA from William and Mary in economics. She also earned an MEd in education, specializing in mathematics curriculum and instruction, from the University of Virginia. Prior to coming to MBU, Ms. Hackley spent 22 years in elementary and middle school education as math coach, mentor, teacher, and private school principal. Ms. Hackley taught classes for the UVA’s Math Specialist program, served on the Virginia Council of Teachers of Mathematics board, and presented research-based professional development at state and district conferences. Throughout her career, Ms. Hackley has worked to support teachers‘ mathematics understanding and instruction, encouraged equitable best practices, and promoted the adoption of research-based strategies.
Ms. Hackley joined MBU in 2023 as the Field Placement Coordinator for the School of Education and an adjunct faculty member teaching mathematics methods. She is pleased to be working with students becoming first-time teachers or furthering their education. Ms. Hackley enjoys traveling, puzzles, reading, biking and spending time with her family.
