Victoria Barret

Victoria Barrett began her Mary Baldwin journey as an undergraduate, earning her Bachelor of Arts in International Relations with minors in Anthropology, History, and Leadership Studies. A
cadet in the Virginia Women’s Institute for Leadership (VWIL), Victoria was commissioned as a Distinguished Military Graduate through Virginia Military Institute’s Army ROTC program. As a logistics officer, she served on Active Duty around the world for seven years and continues her service today in the U.S. Army Reserve.
After completing her Master of Arts in History from Liberty University and joining the Troops to Teachers program, Victoria transitioned into education as a special education teacher in Colorado, where she designed inclusive, student-centered learning experiences for diverse learners. Her passion for student growth and belonging later led her to pursue a Master of Arts in Higher Education and Student Development from George Mason University. While at Mason, she supported student inclusion through the LGBTQ+ Resources Center, researched first-generation transfer student experiences, and worked with contemporary student populations.
Now back at her alma mater as Associate Director of the Program for the Exceptionally Gifted, Victoria brings together her experiences in leadership, education, and student development to help gifted young women thrive in their early college journey.
