Adjunct in Human Geography
Mary Baldwin University invites applications for an adjunct professor to teach Human Geography in our online program beginning August 24, 2026. The department is seeking an individual with a strong commitment to inclusive pedagogies as well as enthusiasm for the environment of a small student-centered university. The successful candidate will be able to teach a course examining the relationships between human societies and the spaces and places they inhabit, including topics such as cultural landscapes, urbanization, migration, globalization, and spatial inequality.
Qualifications
- MA or 18 graduate credit hours in Geography or a closely related field. Relevant disciplinary backgrounds may include but are not limited to Anthropology, Sociology, Urban Planning, Environmental Studies, Political Science, or Development Studies, provided coursework demonstrates substantive engagement with human-environment relationships, spatial analysis, or cultural geography.
- Teaching experience is strongly preferred.
