Full-Time Faculty, Graduate Nursing Programs (Assistant/Assoc.)

Murphy Deming College of Health Sciences at Mary Baldwin University invites applications for  the hybrid Full-Time Faculty, Graduate Nursing Programs position beginning in the 2025-2026  academic year. 

This is a 12-month, full-time hybrid faculty position to support graduate nursing education  across the Master of Science in Nursing (MSN) and Doctor of Nursing Practice (DNP) programs  for the School of Nursing in the Murphy Deming College of Health Sciences. This faculty  member will be responsible for teaching didactic and/or clinical courses across a range of  graduate-level nursing tracks, contributing to curriculum development and evaluation,  mentoring students, and participating in scholarly, service, and professional activities.  Responsibilities also include supporting the continuous quality improvement efforts of the  programs and contributing to the ongoing compliance with accreditation and regulatory  standards.

Required Qualifications 

• Earned doctoral degree in nursing or a related field from an accredited institution  (e.g., DNP, PhD, EdD). 

• Demonstrated commitment to learner-centered education, evidence-based teaching  practices, and innovative approaches to nursing education. 

• Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to effectively mentor  and advise a diverse student population. 

• Minimum of three years of clinical nursing experience, with experience relevant to the  courses taught (e.g., leadership, advanced practice, informatics, quality improvement,  or health systems). 

• Prior didactic teaching experience in a graduate nursing program is preferred;  • Familiarity with online and hybrid instructional delivery methods, including the use of  learning management systems (e.g., Canvas), video conferencing, and other  educational technologies. 

• Experience with curriculum development, assessment of student learning, and  program evaluation is desirable.

State Licensure

• Current, unencumbered Registered Nurse (RN) license or eligibility for licensure in the  Commonwealth of Virginia 

Clinical Experience

• Minimum of three years of clinical practice as a Family Nurse Practitioner in a primary  care or related setting. 

Preferred Qualifications 

Teaching Experience/Preparation: 

• Prior experience teaching at the graduate level is preferred. Experience with online  and hybrid education delivery, including the use of learning management systems  and virtual instructional tools, is highly desirable. 

• Familiarity with instructional design, student assessment, and use of technology in  nursing education is highly desirable. 

• Formal education or training in teaching, instructional technology, curriculum  development, or clinical precepting (such as through a nurse educator certificate or  completion of faculty development workshops) is a plus.
