GRADUATE ASSISTANT COACH – WOMEN’S VOLLEYBALL

Overview

The graduate assistant coach reports directly to the head coach, who is the person responsible for all aspects of leading a competitive NCAA Division III program. This includes, but is not limited to, recruitment and retention of prospective student-athletes, student-athlete academic progress and development, competition preparation and strategy, adherence to NCAA Division III rules and regulations, and general administrative duties. 

The graduate assistant coach will be responsible for supporting the philosophy, goals and mission of both the college and its Athletic program as well as adherence to departmental, university, USA South Athletic Conference and NCAA policies and procedures.  The coaching staff members will be evaluated for the extent to which coaches are providing a positive meaningful educational experience for student-athletes leading to their graduation and the extent to which they have established a sport culture in which he/she is viewed by the student-athlete(s) as a mentor, educator and role model as well as competitive success. 

Additional duties include, but are not limited to: serving as the lead administrator/head coach when the head coach is unavailable; recruiting and retention of student-athletes; contributing to the academic success of the student-athletes, practice and game preparation; scouting; fundraising; assist with athletic department events including community service; working closely with other department coaches and administrators responsible for rules compliance, athletic training, strength & conditioning, media relations, etc., to ensure the highest quality program possible for the student-athletes; other duties as assigned.

NCAA Rules Compliance: The graduate assistant coach will be responsible for knowledge of, and adherence to, NCAA Division III rules and regulations pertaining to recruiting, eligibility, and general operation of the program.position provides general cleaning services and is a full-time position with benefits.

Compensation

Aug. 1, 2026, thru May 31, 2027:  $5,000 and tuition waiver for 12 graduate credit hours
