Students, alumni, ad friends come together for our opening keynote: “Inspiration, Conversation, Community – Finding our Strengths” with Dr. Carey Usher, Dean of the Mary Baldwin College for Women.

Are you an Achiever? Relator? Strategist? Understand your top 5 “CliftonStrengths” with a review and debrief of your personal strengths insight and personal themes. Learn what your strengths mean for you and how to apply them in the real world with our Gallup-Certified Strengths Coach, Professor Clair Kent.

Meet and mingle over meaningful conversations with our MBCW community.

Dinner and Keynote Address, Shenandoah Ballroom, Stonewall Jackson Hotel

Join us for a lovely meal and hear from our Keynote Speaker, Ms. Marsha Sampson Johnson, on “The Leadership Challenge: if not now – when? If not you – who?” A retired senior executive from a Fortune 200 company, Ms. Sampson Johnson is a writer, speaker, and diversity advocate who is passionate about workplace inclusivity, especially as related to women and people of color.

Hear closing remarks on where to go from here, from Karen Sherman, President of the Akilah Institute, a non-profit college for women in Rwanda and former Trustee to Mary Baldwin University.

Karen Sherman (left), president of the Akilah Institute, and Angelina Darrisaw Cheeks (right), founder and CEO of C-Suite Coach, are featured symposium speakers on Saturday. Cheeks will address goal setting and personal branding during the noon luncheon, and Sherman will close the symposium at 4:30 p.m. Please see the schedule for more details.

The Shenandoah Valley Regional Airport (SHD) in Weyers Cave, VA, is approximately 20 minutes from campus and offers jet service from Chicago O’Hare and Washington Dulles.
