No. 3 for Two MBU Online Programs in National Rankings

June 13, 2019

Among colleges and universities across the United States, Mary Baldwin University came in near the top of two recent rankings at No. 3 for both its online program in Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA) and for its online master of healthcare administration (MHA) program.

Applied Behavior Analysis

The Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA) Programs Guide has named MBU’s online program in ABA the No. 3 online program in ABA and BCaBA coursework for 2019.

ABA is a type of therapy that helps promote positive behaviors for individuals of all ages who have been diagnosed with autism or other developmental disabilities. Behavior analysts conduct assessments, work to develop and help implement treatment plans, and provide parent and teacher training.

MBU was highlighted in the ranking for its new undergraduate degree in Autism Studies & ABA, the first in Virginia, which is designed to prepare students to fill the growing needs of schools and service providers for treating autism and other developmental conditions. As part of the major, students also have the option to earn their comprehensive certificate in autism spectrum disorders.

Master of Healthcare Administration

The Healthcare Management Degree Guide ranked MBU’s online MHA program in quality and systems safety as the No. 3 online healthcare quality and patient safety master’s program for 2019.

The MHA program prepares healthcare leaders to improve healthcare quality and patient safety, driving better outcomes across the industry. Graduates pursue careers in quality and patient safety positions for hospitals, insurance companies, healthcare quality and safety oversight organizations, and educational training organizations, among others.

MBU’s program was chosen for the quality of its curriculum, which follows the competencies established by the National Center for Health Leadership and Healthcare Leadership Alliance. Students conduct a comprehensive case study analysis focusing on real-world issues in the healthcare industry, and the program prepares graduates to sit for professional certification exams including the Certified Professional in Healthcare Quality (CPHQ).
