Mary Baldwin University has introduced an accelerated BA to MBA program and a redesigned BA in Marketing, providing flexible, industry-informed pathways that emphasize skill-building and real-world experiences to prepare students for competitive careers in business and marketing.
Mary Baldwin University has launched an accelerated BA to MBA program and a redesigned bachelor of arts in marketing, emphasizing skill-building, flexibility, and access to industry-relevant knowledge and designed to prepare students for in-demand careers in today’s dynamic economy.
Both the accelerated MBA and the BA in marketing are part of MBU’s academic refresh, aimed at providing students with a modern education that aligns with career demands and economic realities.
Accelerated MBA: Fast-Track to Advanced Business Leadership
MBU’s accelerated MBA program enables undergraduate students in any major to jumpstart their graduate studies by taking up to three MBA-level courses during their undergraduate program, reducing both the cost and time required to complete their degree.
“Time is money, and at the School of Business, we value both,” said Cat McPherson, director of the School of Business which is part of MBU’s Palmer College of Professional Studies. “Our accelerated bachelor’s to MBA program allows motivated students to enjoy the benefits of completing a dual degree in less time than it would take to complete two degrees separately. We’re committed to supporting your goals and getting you there faster, for less money.”
Students in this program can complete their MBA within a year after finishing their bachelor’s degree, building critical leadership and business management skills that provide a competitive edge in the job market.
“Today’s business landscape is fast-paced and competitive, and the accelerated MBA at MBU offers a practical and efficient path to advanced business credentials,” says Joanne Tritsch, program director.
Bachelor of Arts in Marketing: Industry-Driven, Flexible Learning Options
The bachelor of arts in marketing is a newly developed, industry-led program that allows students to learn from experts and gain real-world experience with hands-on projects.
Clayton Smith, director of the program, leveraged his own experience in the marketing industry to build this program and staff the program’s classes with expert guest faculty. “The marketing BA is an opportunity for students to learn from industry leaders, gain real-world experience, and graduate with a competitive edge,” Smith said.
MBU welcomes a variety of industry experts to teach courses in the marketing program, including guest faculty who have worked in marketing for household-name companies like TikTok, Hulu, and UPS, to name a few.
These connections will also yield opportunities for students to participate themselves in the industry. Smith brings a history of connecting students with meaningful internships, and he’s bringing that network to MBU. To start, students are set to collaborate with the marketing department for the Austin-Bergstrom International Airport in Austin, Texas.
The program offers three distinct concentrations:
- Marketing management: Prepares students for leadership roles in corporate and strategic marketing.
- Integrated marketing: Focuses on creating multichannel strategies for today’s interconnected media landscape.
- Consumer insights: Teaches data-driven decision-making skills essential for analytics in marketing.
With options for online or on-campus learning, MBU’s marketing program is designed to be accessible, flexible, and focused on the practical skills that employers seek.
