Greg Hansen, PhD, MS, OTR/L

Greg has been a practicing occupational therapist for over 30 years. He received his PhD in Motor Learning from the University of Virginia, a Master of Science degree in occupational therapy from Western Michigan University, and a bachelor’s degree in speech pathology and audiology from West Virginia University. Prior to joining MBU as a full-time faculty member in 2015, Greg practiced in a variety of settings such as the Virginia School for the Deaf and Blind (VSDB), the Wilson Workforce and Rehabilitation Center, Fayette County Schools (WV) schools, and University of North Carolina hospitals among others. Greg’s research interests focus on the scholarship of teaching and learning with recent projects seeking to understand factors related to students’ completion of assigned readings and an investigation of statistical methods most frequently encountered in published therapy journal articles. Greg teaches courses in quantitative and qualitative research, teaching and learning, and motor learning.
Greg relishes his time with his 3 kids, and they are very tolerant of him. He also enjoys playing guitar, playing tennis, attending UVA sporting events, and hiking with his wife and golden-doodle. Greg’s best friend is Dave Grohl, even though they haven’t actually met…yet
