New Student Checklist
Due Now!
After you pay your deposit, the Office of Information Technology will send your MBU username and password (PIN) to the email address in your application. You will use the same login credentials for your MBU Gmail and MyMBU account.
MBU Gmail
Stay connected with important updates and announcements by regularly checking your MBU Gmail account. All correspondence related to your studies will be sent to this email address.
MyMBU online portal
The MyMBU portal provides a wealth of important information, including the academic calendar, billing and account details, course syllabi, forms and documents, grades, and your schedule (when available).
Pathway is a step-by-step guide to help you prepare for your first year at Mary Baldwin University. You’ll find information and instructions for both academic and student life, along with useful contact information.
All students are required to fill out the Neighborhood & Affinity form. Please check your personal email for your custom link to the form.

Before classes begin, join us for one (or more!) of our live virtual sessions designed to help you feel confident and prepared for your transition to MBU. These sessions will take place on Dec. 3 and Dec. 17 at 6 p.m.
At these sessions you’ll:
- Meet the Student Engagement team
 - Get answers to your move-in questions
 - Learn what to expect beyond Orientation
 
A Zoom link will be emailed to all registered guests prior to the session.
The vast majority of first-year undergraduates will live in a residence hall with other students from the same Signature Neighborhood.
We also offer some affinity housing. Visit Residential Life to learn more about the housing options available to you!

Submit your Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) to qualify for student loans, grants, work-study, and scholarships—and just for completing it, you’ll receive a $1,000 scholarship!

When your financial aid package arrives, be sure to review it carefully. If you have any questions or concerns, please contact our Office of Financial Aid at 540-887-7022.

Please make sure your official transcripts are sent to MBU by Jan. 5. You can email your transcripts to admit@marybaldwin.edu or digitally request them via Parchment, eScrip-Safe, or Clearinghouse.

Once you get your financial aid package and payment plan, you must complete the Intent to Pay form to confirm you understand and agree to the terms.
As an MBU student, you have access to FREE, 24/7 mental healthcare services through the virtual health and well-being platform, TimelyCare. It’s designed especially for college students.
All members of the University community MUST register motor vehicles with the university Campus Safety office and display a valid/current parking permit on their vehicle to park on campus. A Visitor Parking Pass is needed for daytime and overnight guests.

Move-In: 9PM – 12PM
Orientation: 2 PM
Students will check in at the Student Activity Center. You will receive your ID badge at this time. Orientation will begin in the afternoon at 2 PM with additional activities on Sunday.
