MBU Online Application Process

Congratulations on taking the first step to furthering your education! We know applying to college can be overwhelming, so we’ve put together this step-by-step guide to let you know what to expect during each part of the process.

STEP 1: SUBMITTING YOUR APPLICATION

  • Submit your application online. There’s no fee, and it takes only 5 minutes!
  • Submit your application materials. We use rolling admissions, so the sooner you complete your file, the sooner you’ll receive a decision!
  • Apply for Financial Aid as soon as possible to ensure funds are available prior to the start of the term.
  • To complete your application, you will need to send transcripts from all prior colleges you have attended. If you have not yet attended college, please send high school transcripts. Unofficial transcripts are fine, just make sure they are readable and up to date.

All submitted documents become the property of Mary Baldwin University.

STEP 2: APPLICATION REVIEW

  • Once we receive all of the required application materials, your file is sent to Admissions for review.
  • You’ll receive a notification email when your decision is made at least two weeks after your credentials are received. Usually, decisions happen in just 24 hours!

STEP 3: IF YOU’RE ACCEPTED

  • Confirm your acceptance by submitting a deposit.
  • You’ll then receive a MBU email account and login information for Canvas and other systems.
  • Your academic advisor will contact you about transferring your credits, mapping out your degree plan, and registering for classes.
  • Order textbooks and other class materials.
  • Get ready to join the #MBUfamily!
