Assistant/Associate Professor of Health Sciences

Overview

Murphy Deming College of Health Sciences at Mary Baldwin University invites applications for a 12-month full-time, renewable faculty position (on campus) at the rank of Assistant/ Associate Professor, beginning in August 2025.

Responsibilities include guiding students through the undergraduate health sciences major through teaching (from entry level to advanced coursework), advising, mentorship, and coordination of senior research projects. Individuals with specific areas of teaching/research interest within public/population health and/or health education/communication are encouraged to apply.

Scholarship and participation in university, community, and professional service is required.

Professional Qualifications

Earned doctorate in public/population health, health education/communication, health promotion, or another related field required

Strong interpersonal skills and excellent written, verbal, and listening communication skills with ability to develop and maintain effective relationships with a wide variety of constituencies in a diverse community.

About Murphy Deming College of Health Sciences

Murphy Deming College of Health Sciences (MDCHS) was opened in 2014, with the intention of addressing health care workforce needs and the complex health issues of the region. Murphy Deming College of Health Sciences is comprised of undergraduate programs in Exercise Science and Health Sciences, and Healthcare Administration, professional programs including Doctor of Occupational Therapy, Master of Science in Physician Assistant, Master of Health Administration, RN-BSN completion, and several Doctor of Nursing Practice tracks.  MDCHS has a strong commitment to interprofessional education across the programs and emphasizes superior education in a people-centered environment.
