Sports Information Director (SID) – Graduate Assistant
The GA SID reports directly to the Director of Athletics and will contribute to all aspects of MBU sports information including, but is not limited to, event prep and management, compiling and maintaining statistics, athletics website, social media, video/webcasting, weekly reporting to NCAA, USA South Athletic Conference, conference member institutions, etc., adherence to NCAA rules and regulations, and general administrative duties.
The GA SID will be responsible for supporting the philosophy, goals and Mission of both the university and its Athletic program as well as adherence to departmental, university, and NCAA policies and procedures. The SID will be evaluated for assisting and promoting student-athletes, coaches and teams in a positive meaningful experience. The GA SID is also evaluated in the overall assistance and support of the athletic department, communication skills with campus and outside entities needing MBU athletic information and success of promoting a positive image of the university and the athletic department.
Additional duties include, but are not limited to: serving as a contributor to the athletic department leadership team, contributing to and promoting the academic success of the student-athletes, assist with athletic department events including community service; working closely with other department coaches and administrators responsible for rules compliance, athletic training, strength & conditioning, etc., to ensure the highest quality program possible for the student-athletes; and other duties as assigned.
NCAA Rules Compliance: The GA SID will be responsible for knowledge of, and adherence to, NCAA rules and regulations pertaining to recruiting, eligibility, and general operation of the program.
Job Requirements:
Required Qualifications: Bachelor’s Degree and acceptance into an MBU graduate degree program. Experience in media relations, social media management, website management, statistics and video, plus an understanding of NCAA Division III and USA South Athletic Conference rules compliance is required. Excellent organization and communication skills necessary. First Aid, AED and CPR certifications, or willingness to secure certifications upon hiring. Must have a valid driver’s license and be available to drive team vans when needed.
