Student Accounts Coordinator
The student accounts coordinator provides administrative oversight to various student account related functions. This individual supports student accounts, utilizing systems such as Jenzabar and other databases as needed. The student accounts coordinator is responsible for managing individual student accounts and data, including managing the monthly payment plan and providing problem resolution. The student accounts coordinator also counsels students and parents regarding student accounts. This individual must have excellent customer service skills, and proficient computer skills.
Duties
- Prepare, review for accuracy, and provide monthly statements of account
- Prepare requisitions for refunds to either students or parents
- Apply rules, regulations, procedures, and guidelines governing tuition accounts for daily verbal communication with students and parents, via telephone and/or email
- Establish and maintain student files to ensure information is accurate and easily accessible
- Maintain daily communication and knowledge with the Financial Aid Office
- Prepare invoices for a variety of programs including international colleges and programs, 529 Plans, military programs, etc. for current students
- Maintain knowledge and prepare all military invoices for MBU cadets
- Coordinate with the University’s Monthly Payment Plan provider
- Prepare letter/mailings for students/parents if applicable
- Approve book vouchers for students
- Place individual student accounts on hold, as required
- Prepare various journal entries
- Collaborate with the office of Student Engagement to accurately bill Room and Board
- Follow up on the collection of past due balances
- Prepare accounts to transfer to Bad Debt
Minimum Requirements
- Strong Organizational skills with ability to prioritize and handle multiple tasks and work under pressure
- Ability to manage a high volume of inquiries via email, phone, and in person.
- Exceptional oral and written communication skills; being able to communicate with students or parents regarding a student’s account, delivering good or bad news to students calmly and effectively, communicating major updates with students regarding their accounts.
- Proficient computer skills, including knowledge with Google Suite, Adobe, and Microsoft Office
- Knowledge of accounting principles, collection procedures, computerized accounting and student billing systems.
- Two years’ experience in Accounts Receivable or related field.
