MDCHS Technology Requirements
Laptops are required for students enrolled in MDCHS’ DPT, MSPA, and OTD programs. Whether evaluating your current computer, or considering purchasing a new computer, please make sure they meet these minimum requirements to ensure you will be able to run the software required by the programs for your studies.
Tablets and Chromebooks are not supported at this time.
Car
Public transportation is limited. You need reliable transportation for your daily commute as well as for clinical assignments and community practicums. Your parking fee is covered under your MDCHS tuition, and your parking permit will be distributed during Orientation.
Housing
We recommend that students find housing locally – the closest communities are Fishersville, Staunton, Waynesboro, and Stuarts Draft. We have provided some information to get you started on the search for your new home. See Housing Links for more information.
Employment
Due to the rigor of our graduate programs, students are strongly advised against employment while enrolled in the program. No time will be granted for students to seek or maintain employment.
Community Partnerships
As you become acclimated to the area, we encourage you to check out local shops, restaurants, and companies that offer discounts and specials for our students. To get your discount you may be asked to show your school ID badge, which you will receive at orientation.
Augusta Health Fitness Center offers a student rate to help meet fitness needs while in our programs.
*Note: A yearly contract is required, but options are available for those whose clinical assignments are outside of the area.
Accessibility Services
For students with documented learning disabilities, we strongly urge you to contact MBU’s Office of Accessibility Services (accessibility@marybaldwin.edu) with your accessibility request BEFORE classes start. Include “MDCHS Student” in your subject line.
