Artists-in-Residence Return this Month

Mary Baldwin University will welcome artists-in-residence Srinivas Krishnan and Claudia Bernardi for multiple events this month. 
World-renowned percussionist Krishnan will join Assistant Professor of Spanish Brenci Patino and Professor of Music Lise Keiter at 6:30 p.m. October 6 in the Spencer Center to explore the diverse musical traditions and overlapping themes from Son Jarocho in Veracruz to percussion in India. His annual Global Rhythms concert will be held at 7:30 p.m. on October 10 Francis Auditorium.

Argentine artist and activist Bernardi will speak about her latest project involving the Mary Baldwin community at 7 p.m. October 14 in Francis Auditorium. “The Tree of Life: the Crossing of a Fractured Border” will focus on the mural project completed during May Term by  detained, undocumented immigrant Central American youths, The School of Art and Open Studio of Perquin / Walls of Hope in El Salvador, and students and faculty from Mary Baldwin.
