Mary Baldwin University and the Virginia Women’s Institute for Leadership honor the nation’s veterans with a series of events leading up to Veterans Day on November 11, as the university community pays respect to all those who have served.

Virginia Women’s Insitute for Leadership (VWIL) cadets and the Blue Ridge Association of the United States Army Chapter host members of the 116 IBCT Army National Guard unit and cadets from Fishburne Military Academy to watch a recent presentation for Staff Sergeant David Bellavia, recipient of the Medal of Honor for his heroic acts during Operation Iraqi Freedom.

VWIL annually welcomes alumni who are currently serving in the armed forces to thank them for their service and hear their leadership advice. This year, the corps welcomes Army Lieutenant Colonel Mei-Ling Guarino ’05, Space Force Major Jacqueline Hull ’10, and LT Christina Leyton ’14.
