February Events at MBU

Check out events and home games at MBU during the month of February below. Home games for MBU Athletics (regular season) are free to attend for all spectators.

2/1: Art exhibition: FOUND! Welded Metals Sculpture by Michael Hough, runs through 2/24, Hunt Gallery in Hunt Dining Hall.

2/1: Wellness Wednesday: Mental Health Hygiene, 12 to 12:30 p.m., Spencer Center and Murphy Deming Room 156. Also livestreamed (check your MBU email for the link.) Free snacks included.

2/1: Office of Inclusive Excellence Open House, 3 p.m., Kable House. Part of MBU’s Black History Month celebration. 

2/3: Home game: Women’s Basketball vs. Methodist, 6 p.m., Physical Activities Center.

2/4: The annual Kwanzaa celebration brings together students, faculty, staff, community members, alumni, and families for a special performance marked by dance, music, and storytelling. This year’s theme is School Daze. 6 p.m., Student Activities Center. Part of MBU’s Black History Month celebration. 

2/4: Afrochic Gala, 9:30 p.m., Student Activities Center. Part of MBU’s Black History Month celebration.  

2/6: Black Stars: Focus on African American Student Research, 6:30 p.m., Francis Auditorium. Part of MBU’s Black History Month celebration.  

2/7: Home game: Men’s Basketball vs. Southern Virginia, 6 p.m., Physical Activities Center.

2/7: High School Choral Festival, 5 p.m., First Presbyterian Church, 100 E. Frederick St., Staunton.

2/9–12: MBU Theatre presents Cupid and Psyche, An Allegory, written by Emily C.A. Snyder and directed by graduate students from the Shakespeare and Performance Program, Fletcher Collins Theater.

2/10: Home game: Men’s Basketball vs. William Peace, 6 p.m., Physical Activities Center.

2/17: Virginia Women’s Institute for Leadership (VWIL) Honors Ceremony, 4 p.m., Student Activities Center.                     

2/18–19: Guided Tour: Slavery in Wilson’s Birthplace, 1 p.m., Woodrow Wilson Presidential Library, 20 N Coalter St, Staunton. Part of MBU’s Black History Month celebration.
