Brad Sheriff
Dr. Brad Sheriff brings 25-plus years of experience in higher education leadership across the roles of chief financial officer, associate vice president of business affairs and compliance, and assistant vice chancellor of academic affairs for business and finance.
As CFO at Mary Baldwin, Sheriff oversees most administrative and operational aspects of the university, including dining, finance, human resources, information technology, and facilities.
Sheriff most recently served as vice president for finance and administration at Southeast Missouri State University, and has also served the University of Illinois System, Indiana Wesleyan University, the University of Nebraska – Lincoln, and the University of Arkansas – Fort Smith, and more midwestern institutions over the course of his career.
During his tenure as chief financial and administrative officer at Southeast Missouri State, Sheriff provided executive leadership to professional managers and staff responsible for delivering effective, efficient, and best-practice services that enabled the work of faculty, staff, and students across the university while advancing the strategic goals of the enterprise. With his team, Sheriff grew operating reserves, worked to make tuition more affordable for students, and implemented data security enhancements. He also championed and led the design, pilot, and implementation of flexible working arrangements for employees and created a total compensation statement to demonstrate to employees the full financial value of their salaries and benefits, among other initiatives.
