Chesney B. Carroll MSPAS, PA-C

Assistant Professor

Chesney Carroll is now a resident of the Shenandoah Valley after having lived around the US and world. She graduated from Northwest Nazarene University in Idaho with a BS in Bio-Chemistry, which is where she found her love of anatomy. After spending some time traveling and working for the global Walt Disney Company, she came back to medicine and graduated from Mary Baldwin University as the secretary of the charter class of the Physician Assistant Program in 2018. After graduating, she continued to stay in the valley and work in Ob/Gyn for the past 6 years. She has a passion for patient education, which aligns with the often-vulnerable population of women’s health in a rural location. Chesney continues to practice one day a week and hopes to bring more PAs into this amazing specialty.

Chesney enjoys working with students one-on-one to help develop their clinical reasoning and voice and ignite their passion of becoming a lifelong learner in the medical field. As a retired PA and professor, Don Solimini, said at her graduation, “The moment you feel like you have stopped learning is the moment you should hang up your white coat.” When not at school or in the clinic, Chesney enjoys spending time with her husband and dogs at their property in Lexington or fixing up their starter home locally. She enjoys traveling overseas with her extended family and supporting local farm-to-table restaurants and cafes in the area.
