Jennifer Hancock, PhD

Associate Professor, Clinical Anatomist, Director of the Common Curriculum 540-887-4175

Dr. Jennifer Hancock has been teaching undergraduate and graduate students in health sciences and biology since 2008. She holds a BA in Biology from Capital University and a PhD in Ecology and Evolutionary Biology from Ohio University, where she was trained to teach clinical anatomy at their medical school.

Dr. Hancock joined Mary Baldwin University in 2016 after eight years of teaching at Marietta College in Marietta, Ohio. Throughout her career, she has taught a wide range of courses including undergraduate biology, anatomy, physiology, and research methods, as well as anatomy, physiology, neuroanatomy, pathophysiology, and research methods in graduate health sciences programs. Currently, she teaches in the physical therapy, occupational therapy, and physician assistant programs within MBU’s Murphy Deming College of Health Sciences. In 2024, she took on the role of inaugural Director of Common Curriculum at MBU, focusing on the development and assessment of the new undergraduate general education curriculum.
